The AX series monitors have broken ALL barriers with the incorporation of AEX Labs' HF1 Ribbon Driver. The HF1 is flat at 100db+ from 400hz-40khz, while maintaining complete accuracy to the source material. This driver is remarkably natural sounding while being surgically accurate. One of the benefits of large surface area ribbon drivers are very low fatigue at high levels, enabling the user to work longer at higher levels, without fatigue and hearing damage/loss. The active/powered version utilizes our Computer Controlled Amplification System (CCAS), capable of extraordinary finesse and articulation, necessary for critical listening. No "tails" are lost or cut short with the CCAS amplification modules, nor is uncontrolled, distorted bass present. The CCAS amplification modules have been carefully selected and designed for their soundstage and imaging characteristics, dynamics, and reliability. The CCAS amplification modules run extremely cool and in long term, high level usage, the CCAS heat sinks will only feel slightly warm to the touch. The AX series CCAS are bi/tri-amplification systems that are completely computer controlled. All functions of the CCAS are performed via USB cable to any computer. AX Series Passive Monitors
The AX Series Passive Monitors are extremely unique, utilizing cutting edge designs and state-of-the-art technologies. Our passive monitors DO NOT CONTAIN CROSSOVERS, and requires an active crossover, equalizer (or AEX Labs SCS Control System), and amplifiers to complete system and run. There are huge benefits to optimizing a playback system with this type of design VS one with passive crossovers. It is critical to make adjustments and corrections without having to contend with a preset crossover configuration and its electronic components. Without all the signal degradation and manipulation typical in other monitors, it is now possible to achieve perfection and absolute accuracy. Once calibrated and voiced, these extraordinary monitors and the amazing capabilities of the AX Series, will raise the level of its playback system to World Class, and “A New Standard of Reference”.
