SCS Source Control System

Beyond Innovation

The AEX Labs SCS-1 and SCS-2 are of the world’s first, next generation, audio controllers. They incorporate innovative concepts that were until now only science fiction. Imagine playing a CD, DVD, SACD etc. and WITHIN THE SAME DEVICE have 8.2*, 7.1*, 5.1*, 2.1*, stereo*, *(all channels can be bi, tri, quad-amped), outputs. Also create crossover points, EQ, phase, delay, and much MUCH MORE, ALL IN ONE COMPONENT. The SCS line is a complete renovation of conventional audio concepts. They offer the ability to control audio and playback like never before. AES/EBU I/O’s are used with your favorite digital converters, 8 inputs and 8 outputs are standard for the SCS-1 and 16/16 for the SCS-2 (up to 128/128 can be configured).

As all functions are completed in the digital domain, there are none of the drawbacks and limitations of analogue gear and real life circuitry. Every solder point, electronic component, cable and it’s connection, etc. degrade the quality of the signal and it’s source material. Then you are subjected to the effects and “color” of the component itself (it’s intended influence). Our idea is to eliminate all that gear and do our work digitally, where it should be done, granted we didn’t always have the technology to do so. In one piece of equipment do the job of many and eliminate the damaging side effects of long signal paths. There simply is no other way to do what the SCS line can without degrading the signal. This very significant leap is the first glimpse into the future of audio and how it is processed.

AEX Labs SCS Line of controllers offer unprecedented AES/EBU channel capacity and routing flexibility. With support for up to 128 channels of input and output at sample rates up to 192 kHz, the SCS controller turns your audio system into a powerful digital router digital controller, digital crossover, digital EQ, etc.,with extensive flexibility and minimal cabling. Most importantly, the SCS supports the emerging single-wire 192 kHz standard and is compatible with existing dual-wire AES/EBU devices.
